STED nanoscope STEDYCON by Abberior for Kazan University
Client: Kazan (Volga region) Federal University Laboratory of Molecular genetics of microorganisms Field: Microbiology Сhallenge: Supplying and assembling Abberior’s STEDYCON nanoscope with Olympus IX83 microscope Solution: Azimuth Photonics supplied STEDYCON imaging system by Abberior for superresolution microscopy to the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology (Kazan University). The system was installed in the laboratory of "Molecular Genetics of Microorganisms". Experts of Abberior Instruments with our technical specialists conducted training for the laboratory staff on working with the software for STEDYCON system. STEDYCON unit was supplied with an Olympus IX83 microscope and an X-Cite lamp source with a liquid light guide.

Client: Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology of RAS Laboratory of Cellular Neurobiology of Learning Field: Neuroscience Сhallenge: Supplying Mightex’s Polygon DMD pattern illuminator for electrophysiology setup Solution: Azimuth Photonics supplied Polygon1000 with liquid light guide and LED (470 nm) for integration into electrophysiology microscope setup. The module is compatible with any camera and microscope models (Leica, Nikon, Olympus, Zeiss). The main directions of scientific work in the laboratory are cellular mechanisms of behavior organization and behavior modifications as a result of learning, cellular and molecular mechanisms of memory. Along with traditional electrophysiological methods, optical methods of recording and confocal microscopy are actively used in the laboratory.

Client: Institute of Biomedical Chemistry Field: Nanobiotechnology Сhallenge: Supplying MALDI/ESI Injector interface for Orbitrap Velos mass spectrometer Solution: Azimuth Photonics supplied Spectroglyph’s MALDI/ESI Injector interface for Orbitrap Velos mass spectrometer at Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology. This interface concurrently enables both elevated pressure (EP) MALDI and ESI capabilities. Supplied system also includes AFM slide holder, DPSS laser Explorer One (Spectra Physics), backing vacuum pump and Velos moving cage.

This microscope includes galvo-galvo scanner, epi-fluorescence module, PMT detection module, Ti:Sapphire Tunable Laser, Quantalux™ sCMOS Camera and Xenon Short-Arc Light Source. The microscope controlled through ThorImage®LS Software.

Thorlabs' Confocal Microscopy Upgrade for Nikon Ti2-E at the Lab of Biomedical Nanomaterials (NUST MISIS)
Client: National University of Science & Technology MISIS Laboratory of Biomedical Nanomaterials Field: Microscopy Сhallenge: Convert inverted microscope Nikon Ti2-E into Confocal Imaging System Solution: Azimuth Photonics supplied Thorlabs’ Confocal Laser Scanning (CLS) Microscopy Upgrade for microscope Nikon Ti2-E. The upgrade features galvo-resonant scan head, 4 laser heads (405 nm, 488 nm, 561 nm, 642 nm), multialkali photomultiplier tubes. Features of widefield and epifluorescnce imaging are saved. Confocal upgrade includes ThorImageLS data acquisition software with added ThorSync feature.

The system is also equipped with Epi-Illuminator Module, CCD camera and LED source X-Cite Xylis. The microscope includes a PC with DAQ card and the ThorImageLS data acquisition software with added ThorSync feature.

Equipment for the laboratory of neurobiology at the National Children's Health Center
Client: National Medical Research Center for Children's Health Federal state autonomous institution of the Russian Federation Ministry of Health Laboratory of Neurobiology and the fundamentals of brain development Field: Optogenetics Сhallenge: Convert the single-channel system for optogenetics based on Mightex’s OASIS Macro to a three-channel configuration. Solution: Azimuth Photonics supplied add-ons by Mightex: filter cubes, LEDs, liquid light guides, BioLED light source control modules, cubes for combining LEDs and transmitting radiation to the sample. It enabled work with 4 wavelengths. The reconfigurable system also uses custom filter sets by Chroma Technology.
